Electricity Badges: SVG Badges for Any Country

Free SVG badges for a country's electricity, in the small two tone style used across GitHub READMEs: a low carbon share badge, a generation badge and a carbon intensity badge, each built from Ember's annual statistics for 2025 and rebuilt as the data updates. Badge kinds

Ember annual statistics, 2025
  • low carbon (213 countries): Share of electricity generation from nuclear, hydro, wind, solar, bioenergy and other renewables.
  • generation (213 countries): Total electricity generated in the country in its latest reported year.
  • carbon intensity (212 countries): Ember's own annual carbon intensity of electricity generated, in grams of CO2 per kWh.

The carbon intensity badge is Ember's own country level figure, the same one shown on /carbon/. It is not an IPCC estimate: IPCC emission factors are still unverified for commercial reuse here, so no live grid ever gets a carbon intensity badge from this site, only a country's own annual Ember figure. A non positive intensity reading is treated as a provisional Ember artifact and dropped, the same rule the carbon pages use, so a badge never shows "n/a".

How to use a badge

Each badge is a static SVG file, about 20 pixels tall, with no script and no tracking: embed it with an <img> tag or a Markdown image, the same way as a build status or coverage badge. Link it to the country's page so a reader can check the figure and its date. The file carries its year and source in its title (shown as a tooltip in most browsers and read by screen readers), and is rebuilt whenever the site's Ember data updates, so an embedded badge stays current without the embedding page changing.
