The world generated 31,820 TWh of electricity in 2025, up 3.1% on 2024. Low carbon sources (nuclear and renewables) supplied 42.3% of world electricity in 2025, up 1.5 points on 2024. Power sector emissions were 14,653 MtCO2 in 2025, up 0.6% on 2024.
