Net Generation vs Demand

Net generation is the electricity a country or grid actually produced, generation minus a plant's own use, while demand is what it consumed. The two rarely match exactly: when net generation exceeds demand, the surplus is exported; when it falls short, the gap is met by importing power from neighbours. A difference between them is normal, not an error, and World Power Monitor never presents one as a stand in for the other.
