Ember Data vs Operator Data
World Power Monitor draws on two layers of data that are never combined into one figure. Ember supplies annual and monthly electricity statistics for almost every country, each figure dated to a year or month. EIA and ENTSO-E supply operator data instead: hourly figures for United States balancing authorities and European bidding zones, each one dated to the hour it covers. A page section drawing on one layer always carries its own source line and as-of date, and never merges a figure from one layer with a figure from the other.
Worked Example
Germany's Ember figure for 2025 and AECI's EIA figure for its most recent hour are two separate layers: an annual statistic dated to a year, and an operator reading dated to an hour. See the full figures.
