Energy Transition

The energy transition is the ongoing shift in how electricity is generated, away from fossil fuels such as coal and gas and toward low carbon sources such as wind, solar, hydro and nuclear. World Power Monitor tracks it by comparing each country's fuel shares today against its own figures five and ten years earlier, rather than against a fixed target or another country's starting point.
